Creating beauty for the everyday.
That’s my artistic philosophy. My goal for my pottery is to bring beauty and comfort to everyday life. I create mostly functional pieces because I believe even the smallest moments in life, like eating dinner or drinking your morning coffee, can and should be beautiful. I hope my work brings you as much beauty and joy to use as it gave me to create it.
About the Artist
Hi, I’m Grace! First things first, I studied art in college which is where I fell in love with ceramics. I didn’t end up graduating from college, but instead dropped out to pursue pottery and other interests full time. While that didn’t end up happening right away, the Lord has blessed me with many other wonderful things happening on this journey.
I officially started Sandhill Ceramics in the fall of 2023 and have been selling at art fairs as a member of Pebblemoss Collective, which is a whole family endeavor for my husband’s family as all of them are creatives as well! My husband does blacksmithing and bladesmithing, so you should totally go check out his account: @fortney_forge on Instagram.
A few fun facts about me:
I’m a black belt in Taekwondo.
I bake sourdough on a regular basis.
And I’m kind of obsessed with birds (thus the sandhill crane in my logo) and flowers.
I launched my first pottery collection online in the spring of 2024. I’m super excited to be able to pursue my dream of being a potter and can’t wait to see what God has in store for Sandhill Ceramics!
